You get a structured overview: supplier details, how each option matches your brief, prices and quotation terms, minimum order and lead time where relevant, product range and cooperation terms, and my notes on fit and any risk signals. The aim is a clear basis for your decision — not a pile of links.

The starting point is the requirements: what exactly the product is and what the supplier must be able to provide or produce. One I have already worked with goes through the same filter as a new candidate — past orders make the check faster, not softer. When the match is not exact, I run a new search: a normal part of the job, not a special effort.

What matters most is that you know your product and have a clear idea of what you need; that removes a lot of the guesswork about specification.
It depends on the products. Standard, easy-to-find items can move quickly. Specific, custom, or unusual products take longer, because real comparison means more searching and more back-and-forth with suppliers. I give you a realistic timeframe once I see the list — not a number that sounds good but doesn’t hold.
I look at fit, not just price. I talk to suppliers directly and filter them against your requirements. Years on the ground in China give me my own red and green flags.
A supplier check reduces blind spots — background, communication, product fit, basic risk signals. But it doesn’t turn risk into zero. This isn’t unique to China: cross-border B2B purchasing doesn’t work like buying from a local shop. What I answer for is the search itself — done properly, documented, and matched to your task. The supplier’s future behaviour is a risk we manage, not a promise I sell.
