Client location: West Africa
Logistics mode: FCL, 40 ft HQ
Service format: End-to-end
Service focus: Multi-supplier sourcing and purchasing management in China. A single point of contact on the ground in China. Seller of record. Export customs clearance in China under the client’s instructions. One container — one consignee.

Intro

The client was buying building materials and installation supplies in China for a local construction project — a multi-unit apartment building. They came well prepared: a detailed, structured purchase list, with even the small items linked to China’s online marketplaces. My part was to execute the list in China, end to end.
The range ran from marketplace-level small purchases to serious volumes of building materials and hardware — different suppliers, different handling, one container.

Product range

  • Bathroom fixtures and fittings

faucets, wash basins, drains, WC fittings, and shower accessories.
  • Electrical and lighting

solar lamps, socket boxes, light switches.
  • Wall and ceiling boards & panels

UV carbon crystal wall panels, gypsum boards, ENF boards and plywood.
  • Drywall framing and finishing

runners & angles, joint compound, joint tapes, screws & anchors.
  • Sealants and installation consumables

sealants, polyurethane foam, tile cutting discs, drill accessories, ladders.
  • Metalwork and hardware

    entrance gates and door pivots.

Service scope

  • Source and vet suppliers in China
  • Place orders for confirmed suppliers and pre-selected items from the sourcing list
  • Manage multi-supplier payments
  • Manage inland logistics in China and consolidate goods
  • Warehousing and targeted checks
  • Book freight and handle container loading
  • Arrange and manage export processing

Outcome

Nineteen suppliers managed. The largest single part of the order — building materials and hardware — came from a supplier sourced from scratch. I coordinated and clarified the details of each purchase, so it all stayed clear on the client’s side.
The whole list was consolidated and shipped from China as one 40 ft HQ.
