Outcome
The risk in a purchase like this lives in the details. Materials that have to be installed don’t just need to arrive; they need to fit the way the site will use them.
One of the client’s requests was to clarify the installation details with the manufacturer. I pinned them down and reported back; the client reviewed and approved before anything was purchased. That’s also why supplier choice mattered here: not just anyone with stock and a price, but a manufacturer who knows the product.
Ten suppliers, consolidated and shipped from China as one 20 ft FCL. I provided the client with the full document pack — the contract, one consolidated commercial invoice, the packing list, the certificate of origin, and a copy of the bill of lading. Since then, we’ve kept working together.
